THE BIG '26 IS HERE | 1/13/6
The new year has finally descended upon us, and thank god for that, because those last few months were honestly a nightmare for me. I mean, it wasn't that bad -- really the worst thing that happened was just me getting sick on and off until finally getting hospitalized for dengue -- but it's because of that that I had to deal with a bunch of missing outputs on top of academics.
But the past is the past! For christmas + new years we drove down to my grandparents which was like a 12 hour drive, so that's cool. Who doesn't love a 12 hour long drive?
I mostly just slept and used the computer the whole time, but I did go to the beach once with my family which was fun. I wish we'd went more though, considering how close the sea is. My family had already gone like a week prior which they tried to wake me up for, but they always go so early in the morning that I just told them to go without me.
Oh -- y'know what's the worst thing that's happened to me recently, something arguably worse than me landing myself in the hospital? MY TABLET DIED. And I probably won't be able to ever use it again. It sucks 'cos my Procreate is what I use for all my digital art, and now I'm back at square one. I'll have to get used to a whole new art program, and on my laptop as well -- which has been going well so far! Except the drawing tablet I've been using belongs to my brother, and he's an artist as well, so it's not like I can use it willy-nilly.
I will say though that despite this, I was able to secure a commissioner that paid me handsomely. And I won myself a pretty penny during my extended family's new year games, so I guess you could say the new year was looking up for me!
I got hospitalized. Again.
I mean it's not that bad -- I just had a bout of astha + fever, and I was only there for a few days -- but I had to leave my dorm after like 2 days of being there, and it's put a bit of stress on the people around me. Plus I have to get on meds again, even after having finished my round of meds from my first hospitalization. Can you tell I get sick easily?
Now I've flew to a different province to attend a funeral, which is fine, except classes have already started and I won't be able attend for a while. Which... isn't great.
But anyway, I'm still excited for what's to come this year. My new year's resolution is to find more things to love (comics, films, games, etc), and perhaps get cooler. I also hope to start -- and finish -- at least one creative project! I've already got one on my mind about a woman and a robot in a post-apocalyptic cyberpunk society.
Wish me luck!
